Waterline to be Installed on Union Street

Beginning on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, the Town’s contractor will be installing a new waterline on Union Street.  This work will take approximately 10 days to complete and will take place between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

The waterline installation project on Union Street will impact the parking on Union Street during the work week (Monday-Friday) between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM. As a result of this project, parking will not be permitted on either side of the street between Wirt Street and North King Street.  “No Parking” signs will be posted and enforced.  Illegally parked vehicles will be towed to the Pennington Parking Lot.

In the event of inclement weather or mechanical breakdown, the work will be extended on a day for day basis during the aforementioned work hours.

This waterline installation project is part of the overall North King Street Drainage project that involves the replacement of old and undersized storm drainage pipes and upgrading the aging water main in this part of Town. Upon completion in the next 9-12 months, the North King Street Drainage project will improve the drainage for the 63 acre watershed impacting the Old and Historic District of the Town.

Please contact Walid Quttaineh, Project Manager, at 571-233-4161 for more information on the project
